BuildMOTO: Rio Team Moves from Teardown to Rebuild

Gaskets, Inc. Sponsors Rio High School’s BuildMOTO Program – Build Update

At Gaskets, Inc., we’re proud to continue supporting Rio High School’s BuildMOTO team as students move deeper into their first season in the program. What began in January as a brand-new challenge has quickly turned into a hands-on learning experience, with students now transitioning from teardown into the rebuild phase of their motorcycle project.

From Teardown to Transformation

During the early stages of the build, students completed a full teardown of the motorcycle, carefully disassembling it down to its core components. This process gave the team a deeper understanding of how each system works while preparing the bike for key upgrades. Plans for new tires and a redesigned exhaust system are already in motion, giving students the opportunity to improve both performance and design as they rebuild.

Progress Through the Build Season

January focused on organizing and taking components apart, while February shifted to design and preparation. March brings the busiest phase, the rebuild. Students are hard at work, soldering wiring connections and beginning to assemble the electrical harness. Upcoming work will include fabrication tasks such as cutting exhaust pipes and creating induction tubes—critical steps as the bike moves closer to completion.

Looking Ahead to the Finish Line

Looking ahead, the BuildMOTO schedule keeps the momentum strong. April will focus on completing assembly and testing the bike on a dyno, followed by final cosmetic work and judging in May. With steady progress and growing confidence in the shop, the Rio team is on track for a strong finish. Gaskets Inc is proud to support these students as they turn their hard work into a machine that’s built to perform.
